Contract lifecycle management
Smarter contracts. Clearer obligations. Fewer surprises.
ContractIQ brings requests, drafting, approvals, signature, obligations and renewals into one secure, searchable record — so SMEs and mid-market teams always know what they have agreed, what they owe, and what is coming next.

01The lifecycle
One record, from the first request to the last renewal.
Most contract problems are not drafting problems. They are the signed copy nobody can find, the approval that happened by email, the renewal that rolled over because the notice date lived in one person’s calendar.
ContractIQ follows each agreement through every stage and keeps the record — documents and their versions, decisions, dates, duties and history — in one place your whole team can trust.
- 01RequestA structured ask, triaged by the contracts team.
- 02DraftStarted from an approved template.
- 03ReviewInternal and counterparty rounds.
- 04ApprovalRouted to the right people, in order.
- 05SignatureProgress and signatories recorded.
- 06ActiveKey dates and the signed copy in one place.
- 07ObligationsDuties owned, dated and evidenced.
- 08RenewalNotice deadlines seen well ahead.
- 09ArchiveRetired, never lost, still searchable.
02Obligations
The part of the contract that happens after signature.
Service reviews, insurance certificates, reports, price reviews, audits. Each obligation in ContractIQ has an owner, a due date, a responsible party and, where it repeats, the next occurrence scheduled automatically.
Owners see what is due soon and what is overdue. When the work is done, the evidence is attached to the obligation — so “did we do it?” has an answer that doesn’t depend on who is on leave.
- Upcoming
- Scheduled, with an owner and a date.
- Due soon
- Inside your organisation’s due-soon window.
- Overdue
- Past its date and still open — surfaced first.
- Completed
- Closed with a note and supporting evidence.
- Waived
- Deliberately not required this time, with a reason.
03Renewals and notice
The date that matters is the notice deadline.
An auto-renewing agreement with ninety days’ notice is decided three months before it ends. ContractIQ calculates each notice deadline from the end or renewal date and the notice period, and puts it in front of the owner long before it arrives.
Renewal views group the portfolio into what falls due in the next 30, 60, 90 and 180 days. Reminders are raised at the offsets your organisation chooses, and the outcome — renewed, notice given, renewal declined — is recorded on the contract.
180days · Plan
Long-running supplier and customer agreements worth reviewing early.
90days · Review
Decide whether to renew, renegotiate or exit.
60days · Decide
Owners confirm the decision and prepare notice.
30days · Act
Notice deadlines that must not be missed.
04Approvals
The right sign-off, without the email chain.
Approval workflows are set up once, by contract type, department, value and risk. When approval is requested, ContractIQ chooses the most specific workflow that fits and asks each approver in turn.
Approvers approve, reject or ask for changes with a comment. Every decision is recorded against the contract, and your organisation can require approval before anything goes for signature.

05Portfolio and search
Know what you have agreed, across every agreement.
Search by title, reference, counterparty or tag, then narrow by status, type, department, owner, risk or value. Save the views you use every week and share them with your team.
- Counterparties
- Every agreement with a supplier or customer, with their contacts, in one place.
- Clause library
- Approved and fallback wording with guidance, and a version history of every change.
- Templates
- Standard agreements with defaults, approval routes and the obligations they create.
- Reports and export
- Portfolio reports, and a spreadsheet export whenever you need your data elsewhere.
- Each organisation’s data is isolated inside PostgreSQL by row-level security, using a dedicated least-privilege database role.
- Permissions are checked on the server and again in the database, never only in the browser.
- Documents are stored privately and opened through signed links that expire after one minute.
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; sign-in is rate limited and repeated failures lock the account temporarily.
- Hosted in the EU, served over HTTPS, with an append-only audit log of changes.
07Who it is for
Every team that signs, owns or pays for a contract.
Procurement
Keep every supplier agreement, its renewal terms and its service obligations in one record. See which contracts auto-renew next quarter while there is still time to renegotiate, and route new supplier contracts through the approvals your policy requires.
Sales and commercial
Start customer agreements from approved templates and fallback clauses, so negotiations move without a fresh legal review of every change. Know what you have committed to after signature, and who on your side owns it.
Legal and operations
Take requests through one front door instead of email, keep the clause library current with a full history of wording, and answer “where is the signed copy?” and “what did we approve?” in seconds.
Finance
See contract values, terms and renewal exposure across the portfolio, require approval above the thresholds you set, and stop paying for renewals nobody decided to keep.
Does ContractIQ use AI to read our contracts?
No. ContractIQ does not send your contracts or documents to AI services and does not use them to train models. What you record is what the product works with.
Where is our data hosted?
In the European Union. The database runs on Supabase’s managed PostgreSQL platform in AWS eu-west-1 (Ireland), documents are held in private storage in the same region, and the application runs on Vercel with compute in its Dublin region.
Who can see which contracts?
Access follows roles made of specific permissions, checked on the server and again inside the database. Contracts marked restricted are visible only to their owner, the people working on them and those explicitly allowed to see restricted contracts.
Can we get our data out?
Yes. People with the export permission can download the portfolio as a spreadsheet at any time, and documents remain downloadable. Your data belongs to you.
Does it handle electronic signatures?
Today ContractIQ records signature progress, signatories and the fully executed copy, whichever signing tool you use. Integrations with e-signature providers are planned.
How do reminders work?
Your organisation chooses how many days ahead reminders are raised — by default 90, 60, 30 and 7 days before a notice deadline, renewal or expiry. Reminders appear in ContractIQ and can also be sent by email where email delivery is enabled.
How do we get started?
Request a demo and tell us a little about your contracts. We will walk through ContractIQ with you and talk about access for your organisation.
Fewer surprises start with one clear record.
